Change of Degree Program/Major

Change of Degree Program/Major

Please Note: This form is NOT used to declare a minor. Click here to review the minor declaration process in myCharger.

This form is used to change your currently declared degree program/major. Forms that are submitted during the academic year will become effective for the next term. Normally, a major cannot be changed in the middle of a term since financial aid has already dispersed. Students will receive an email notification to their University email account once this change has been officially processed.

Student may not declare a major and minor in the same subject/department.

If there is a pre-registration period before the change is made, please contact your current advisor to let them know you are changing your major. They may need to share your registration PIN with your new advisor. You can use the What-If function in Degree Audit to determine what courses you should register for in the next term.

Please note that if you are a recipient of a major-specific scholarship, or are enrolled in a dual degree program, changing your degree program/major may affect your eligibility.

Current students in traditional programs may not change to the online degree completion version of their degree program. Two years of full-time work experience is required before students may re-enroll into their original program. Current students in online programs may not be able to change to a different online program.
