Important Information
Failure to satisfy the academic requirements of the program or to complete the service requirement will result in forfeiture of the scholarship award, Should you terminate your appointment under CSA, decline or refuse to honor your commitment to accept permanent employment, or, voluntarily terminate permanent employment before you have fulfilled your period of obligated service, you must reimburse the United States, in whole or in part, the cost of the financial (scholarship and stipend) assistance provided to you. An obligation to reimburse under this condition of employment is for all purposes considered to be a Federal debt owed to the United States.
Documents and information you need for the DoD CSA application in the DoD CSA Application portal:
• Complete the New Student Application on the Department of Defense website. The Application form with instructions is here: https://public.cyber.mil/wid/csa/
Completely your interest form and submit the documents required. You will need these documents:
• Resume.
• Two letters of reference that address the specific information required by this application (cannot be family members). At least one should be a faculty member.
• Awards, Honors & Distinctions list.
• OF612 Supplemental Competency Statement (built into the DoD CSA Application portal).
• We must submit your official transcript(s) into the DoD CSA application portal for you. Send your official school transcripts directly to us from the College(s) or University(ies) you have attended including ours. Documents and information you need to submit in this form for our review:
• We can see the entire application you submitted to the DoD to evaluate you.
In addition we need the following:
• A three-page (max) essay with the following subsections:
• Career goals in cybersecurity
• Department of Defense work of interest (and not of interest) to the candidate
• A short statement of research (what the candidate is interested in working on – applied cybersecurity research problems that are of interest to the candidate)
• A persuasive statement (convincing the committee that you are the right candidate to be considered for the DoD CSA program).
• A completed Conduct Release Forms from all the College(s) or University(ies) you have attended including ours. This is to evaluate your suitability for clearance, which is a requirement of this program. You can have them sent to us directly from your schools. You fill in the student section and have your institution’s Dean of Student office complete the institution’s section. You can download the form from this link: http://tiny.cc/ConductRelease
