Transforming Children’s Behavioral Health Policy and Planning Committee (TCB): Community Voices Workgroup (CVW) Individual Application

The Transforming Children’s Behavioral Health Policy and Planning Committee (TCB) was established in 2023 by Public Act 23-90 and mandated to evaluate the availability and effectiveness of prevention, early intervention, and treatment services for children's behavioral health, substance use disorders, and general well-being of children aged from birth to eighteen.

The Community Voices Workgroup (CVW) engages families and children from across the State to foster partnerships between the TCB and the community and prioritize children and family voice into TCB initiatives and legislative recommendations, underscoring a firm commitment to equity and meaningful youth engagement.

This application is open to youth, parents, and community members with firsthand or secondhand experience in children’s behavioral health care systems in Connecticut. Our goal is to amplify diverse voices in statewide policy discussions and decision-making, ensuring perspectives from all corners of Connecticut are heard. We encourage individuals who are passionate about improving the state of children’s behavioral health services in the state to apply. Applications are being accepted through June 30, 2025.

Individuals applying, if chosen, will become part of the CVW of the TCB. They will receive guidance and be provided with resources that will help develop an understanding of the work. This workgroup includes representatives from several organizations throughout the state that focus on children’s behavioral health issues and challenges.
